The Biz of New Orleans reports:
"The leading suggestion that I have heard, calling around today, is Judge Edith Clement, known as Joy, who is a judge on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, appointed by President George Herbert Walker Bush to the district court. ... She was appointed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit by the current President Bush in 2001."
Bush's spokesman won't identify the president's choice. There's been intense speculation that it will be federal appeals Judge Edith Clement.The Guardian reports:
