"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." Theodore Roosevelt

Shameless

Donald Rumsfeld jumps at the opportunity to improve his image, by publicly giving his condolences to the families of the four Boy Scout leaders who died at the jamboree in Virginia:
"I offer my condolences to the families of the victims of Monday's accident at the Boy Scout Jamboree. Scouting has a special place in American society, and the Defense Department's relationship with the scouts is long-standing and enduring. The jamboree is a wonderful celebration of that tradition and of that relationship. My thoughts and prayers are with the families affected by this terrible accident, and with the Boy Scouts of America at this time of loss."
What about apologizing to the 1700-plus families who have lost their sons and daughters in a needless war? Too busy?
